SA CHALLENGE 2011 !!! - DATED POSTED 25 MAY 2011

SA LOGO CHALL

The SA Challenge 2011
After having successfully held the event in the Magaliesberg in 2010, the 2011 edition of the SA Challenge will once again take place in the Western Cape, with the event being held on the banks of the Breede River from Thursday 8th September to Sunday 11th. Participants will be hosted at "Round the Bend", a Felix Unite River Adventures resort, situated on the Breede River, approximately 2 ½ hours from Cape Town. The main lodge at Round the Bend has panoramic views of the scenic Breede River and has all the necessary facilities. Participants will be comfortably accommodated in chalets and luxury tented accommodation.

The Felix Unite group of companies are industry leaders in guided river trips and corporate team building, and add a great deal of value to the SA Challenge by virtue of their experience and expertise, not to mention the wonderful venues that meet all the requirements of staging a logistically challenging event such as the SA Challenge. Visit www.felixunite.com

Despite the change in venue, the challenges will as always, test participants on multiple levels, with the top four finishers of the event qualifying for the UK Challenge in June 2012.

You will be able to get all the information on the 2011 event on the website – www.sachallenge.co.za - which will offer users the opportunity to Xperience IS and get a better feel for the Intelligent Sport concept. In addition, you can follow developments on facebook and Twitter – a great way to stay in touch and share your thoughts and ideas with the Intelligent Sport family.

Make the most of your participation in The South African Challenge.
The key to success in The South African Challenge is PREPARATION. Whatever your goals and objectives might be, preparation prior to the event is the key to what you and your company take out of the challenge. Get your entries in early, and we will communicate all the information you will need to start the process of:

•Engaging your company
•Reaching into the heart of your business
•Raising funds for charity
•Setting your company goals and objectives
•Selecting your team
•Training your body
•Training your mind
•Scenario and strategy planning
Should you so require, we can assist in team selection and training by holding internal "Mini Challenges", which will test participants on multiple levels and assist in engaging the greater company.

2011 Charity

The Cipla Miles for Smiles foundation was formed to assist Operation Smile in creating awareness for the plight of children born with cleft lips and palates, and raise funds to perform corrective surgery on them. The foundation has a fundamental aim, to inspire and challenge individuals to go out and make a difference in the lives of those around them, by challenging themselves to achieve the impossible and by doing so make a difference.

The Charity is spearheaded by David Grier, who through his extraordinary exploits, has helped change the lives of thousands of children. David has run the length of the Great Wall of China, around the entire coastline of South Africa, paddled a kayak from Mozambique to Madagascar and run the entire length of Madagascar. The South African Challenge will, over and above the funds raised by participants, donate 5% of all income – entries and sponsorships – to Miles for Smiles. More details can be found at

Event Feedback
Over the years the feedback we have gathered from previous participants only serves to highlight the analogies between business and the SA Challenge:

•Have clear and measurable goals and objectives.
•Planning is critical.
•Evaluating the circumstances and environment you are operating in, is the key before allocating resources.
•Always gather as much information as possible before attempting to solve a problem.
•Operating under pressure causes you to make mistakes – always double check!
•Before presenting a solution always have a team member review it.
•Teamwork is critical to getting the best solution.
